Theoretical Approach
In my practice, I utilize an eclectic approach in my clinical work. This individualized treatment approach provides an invaluable opportunity to create a therapeutic experience that is tailored to each person's needs and goals. I strive to offer an experience and an environment where the individual feels safe and encouraged on their path of growth and self-discovery.
I believe in the inherent strengths of the individual and family. Utilizing a strength-based approach encourages each child, adolescent, adult and family member to discover their own special qualities and to build upon them to create their best self.
I believe in the empowerment of the individual and the resiliency of the human spirit.
Strength-Based
Sometimes it may feel challenging to recognize one’s own positive qualities. Yet, each individual has inherent strengths. At times, it may take some help or support to identify them. In our work together, we discover and build upon these strengths, to help improve one’s every day life.
Evidence-Based Framework
I utilize a CBT-framework, working with each client to individualize the approach so it feels like a fit. CBT is an evidence-based approach, meaning it has been shown to improve anxiety and depression. At a basic level, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) asks the person to explore how one’s thoughts are impacting how the person feels emotionally. If we can work together to look at which thoughts may not be helpful or even accurate, we can potentially shift how one feels about a situation.
