Ashley Trillo, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Hello, I’m Ashley Trillo and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#140533). I’m currently accepting new clients, working with children, teens, adults, and groups.
Theoretical Approach:
I place great value on the uniqueness of each person, which leads me to use an eclectic approach to therapy. My approach includes both evidence-based treatments such as CBT and ACT, as well as emotion-focused and somatic therapy. Approaching therapy in this manner allows the therapeutic process to be tailored to the individual’s needs and strengths. I believe knowing one’s self and awareness of the mind-body connection can lead to growth and achievement. Awareness of this connection inspires me to help people become more conscious of their physiological/body experiences, as well as challenge limiting thought and beliefs.
Background:
I received my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University, as well as a BA in Psychology and BA in Communication Studies from California State University, Chico. In addition to my formal learnings, I have years of experience working with people to achieve improved mental, emotional and behavioral health.
Before providing psychotherapy to clients, I had the opportunity to work with children, teens, adults and families in various community support settings. This included working with children with learning differences to manage stress and find ways to achieve success, supporting families living in a transitional housing community, providing social and emotional support to individuals attending a drug and alcohol recovery program, helping first generation college students create success in the college setting, and working with high school students on the autism spectrum achieve behavioral success with peers and in the classroom. My diverse experiences working in the helping profession have led to a deep appreciation for connecting with people to create positive life changes.
